Lexus reinvents the LFA as 100% electric!

Lexus unveils the LFA Concept, a world premiere and a vision of the electric sports car of tomorrow.

Lexus presents the LFA Concept, a 100% electric concept car that marks a new step in the manufacturer’s sports strategy. Inspired by the heritage of the Toyota 2000GT and Lexus LFA, this prototype explores the possibilities offered by electrification while integrating the know-how passed down within the Toyota group. The project was born from Akio Toyoda’s desire, alias Morizo, to preserve and transmit the techniques that have shaped the brand’s iconic sports cars.

Developed in parallel with the Toyota GR GT hybrid, the LFA Concept shares the same engineering philosophy. It is in the spirit of “Shikinen Sengu,” an approach aimed at facilitating dialogue between generations and skills in the service of sustainable performance. Lexus thus seeks to demonstrate that an electric sports car can offer emotion, precision, and stylistic excellence.

The DNA of sports in electric mode

Based on three pillars – low center of gravity, high rigidity, and reduced weight – the LFA Concept adopts a lightweight aluminum structure identical to that of the GR GT and a cockpit entirely designed for connection between the driver and the machine. The driving position, inspired by GR models, aims to enhance immersion and precision at the wheel. Lexus introduces what it calls a sensory experience where aerodynamics and sculptural design combine to heighten sensations.

The 100% electric architecture has allowed for a rethinking of the coupe’s proportions, with a low and fluid silhouette that recalls the timeless elegance of the LFA while asserting a new identity. The style aims for a sustainable balance, based on the purity of lines and the optimization of airflow.
