Honda finally decides to price its e:Ny1 at €34,900!

The offer is limited to a 25 e:Ny1, initiated by a Parisian dealership, but the momentum is now underway for the Japanese electric SUV.

It is the story of an excellent product whose price tag unfortunately does not align at all with the electric market. Honda is that gifted child who prefers to live apart from others, choosing to spend its life alone in its corner. Even if it means being misunderstood, or sometimes mocked. That’s just how it is.

The customer, guided by prices, turns away and no longer even tries to take an interest in the product itself, which is a shame because Honda has always been – and remains – a feat of engineering and reliability. Yet today, if Honda wants to survive, it must play by the rules of the automotive market: dividing electric prices by 1/3. And this is only the beginning…

Is Honda waking up?

The e:Ny1 is a superb 100% electric SUV with a 68 kWh battery offering a range of 412 km. Its starting price has been reduced to 45,700 euros, but this aspect is very confusing. Why? Because a 25-month lease with an option to buy at 259 euros/month (with a first payment of 7200 euros) effectively brings the price down to 43,334 euros once the final purchase option is activated. Go figure…

At the initiative of the dealership Japauto, 25 units of the e:Ny1 are offered starting at 34,900 euros, representing a discount of over 10,000 euros. A true price repositioning that is really attractive considering how good this Japanese SUV’s features are. With its 204 horsepower, it offers lively performance. The only caveat is its relatively modest charging power of just 100 kW. On long trips, recharging might take a few extra minutes compared to competitors capable of 130, 150, or 175 kW.

Otherwise, the thrill of standing out from other drivers in Tesla Model Y will only be greater.
