The Chinese conquest of Europe is not over. While some brands like MG and Lynk&CO are now well established here, a new player is preparing to make a notable entrance. This is Human Horizons. Currently, the manufacturer markets two models in its domestic market: the HiPhi X and HiPhi Z. But it is the second last letter of the alphabet that is expected to make a name internationally.
The HiPhi Y is quite a unique vehicle, halfway between an SUV and a minivan, while also having some sports car genes. The profile features original gullwing doors. A complex mechanism that should, however, make access easier, but beware of parking nose-in.
Also beware of narrow alleyways, because at 4.94 meters long and 1.96 meters wide, the Chinese vehicle is a large shipper.
To navigate best through the alleyways of the Old Continent, the vehicle is equipped with cameras in the B-pillars. And the doors open with a simple touch on the sensor.
Two levels of batteries
As expected, the HiPhi Y will be offered with electric motors. A base version with a standard 76.6 kWh battery and, for long-distance drivers, a 115 kWh unit has been chosen. The latter will be paired with a 336 hp electric motor, sufficient for family getaways on long trips, as the range could exceed 650 km according to WLTP standards. Undoubtedly, with such technical specifications, the price should be accordingly high!
