Fisker Ocean, the other electric SUV coming from America

The Fisker Ocean is American, electric, and targets SUV enthusiasts, like a certain Tesla Model Y. But will it achieve the same success?

After making an initial foray into the automotive market, Henrik Fisker is returning with a new brand bearing his name. This young manufacturer’s lineup will only include electric vehicles. The first of these, the Ocean, is a compact SUV with sleek and dynamic lines. Built in Austria at Magna Steyr, it will be offered at a reasonable price, similar to the Tesla Model Y, which it hopes to challenge for dominance.

Proof that progress is being made, Fisker has just launched the configurator (available here). The tool, smooth and well-designed, gives a clear idea of the product lineup and the customization options available. These will be numerous on the exterior, including several wheel choices and a very comprehensive color palette, with colors… costing €4,500!

Fisker Ocean: already 440 km of range for the base model

In its entry-level configuration, the Ocean delivers 275 hp and promises a range of 440 km (WLTP cycle). A dual-motor all-wheel-drive version will also be available. It will be much more powerful (up to 550 hp) and its range will increase to 630 km with solar panels on the roof, exclusive to the high-end Extreme trim.

Although Henrik Fisker is Danish by origin, the brand bearing his name is based in the United States. While the Ocean is not yet on the roads, the manufacturer has already begun discussing its future models, namely the compact sedan Pear and the Ronin, a spectacular GT.
