Drag Race: The Cybertruck Truly Astonishing Next to the 911 Turbo

Two YouTubers decided to recreate the acceleration race between the Tesla Cybertruck and the Porsche 911 Turbo S. Who wins?

The launch video of the Cybertruck, showing it beating a Porsche 911 Turbo in acceleration while towing a trailer with another Porsche 911 Turbo on it, caused quite a stir. The magic of the web and its immediate popular trial then did their work.

Upon closer inspection, keen observers revealed the lies of Tesla, which claimed victory in the 400-meter Start-Stop test. In reality, the effort was only over 200 meters. Nevertheless, the performance was quite astonishing.

No shame in that?

Two content creators obtained two vehicles from the market: an 845-horsepower Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast weighing 3.1 tons, and a Porsche 911 Turbo S with 640 horsepower and 1.6 tons. That’s 205 horsepower and half the weight difference between the two rivals.

In terms of torque, the Tesla Cybertruck claims 1400 Nm versus 800 Nm for the Porsche 911 Turbo S. Finally, in terms of price, the starting prices are $96,390 before taxes in the United States for the former, and $230,400 before taxes for the latter.

The results are truly impressive, with the Cybertruck easily outpacing the Porsche in the first approximately 300 meters. Then the 911 Turbo S catches up, ultimately winning by a fraction of a second. The immediate effects of electric traction make a difference in the initial meters.

But when aerodynamic penetration efforts come into play, the Porsche becomes much more effective.

A dramatic finish?

This video also offers a close-up look at the assembly quality of the Tesla Cybertruck delivered to customers. The images reveal adjustments that are frankly unworthy of a car sold for over 100,000 euros. On social media, the first delivered customers also report, with photos to support, the existing corrosion of the bodywork after less than two months of daily use.

The aluminum bodywork is reportedly not resistant enough, becoming a subject of ridicule with photomontages showing a completely rusted Cybertruck. Tesla must respond to keep its promises… and avoid once again falling into the trap of commercial lies. Discontent in the United States is growing, and constant arrogance isn’t unrelated.
