Catastrophe: Tesla Agrees to Rent Out Its Cybertruck for €935

Too expensive, Tesla is now offering a leasing option in the United States for its Cybertruck starting at $999 per month. Interesting?

While awaiting the arrival, promised by Tesla, of a Cybertruck priced at $60,000 (excluding VAT or sales tax), and with nearly 4 years delay, the American manufacturer has no choice: they need to launch a leasing offer to sell off units. Electric pickup sales have plummeted, despite market expansions into countries like Canada and Mexico.

The message needs to be sent that the Cybertruck is accessible, and not that it’s a vehicle costing $80,000 (75,000 euros) in its base version and $100,000 (93,500 euros) in its top-tier Cyberbeast trim… still excluding taxes according to states. And in this attractiveness strategy, Tesla is truly ready for anything, even lowering the down payment to $0!

So, with zero down payment, over 36 months and 30,000 miles (48,200 kilometers), the Cybertruck is available for rent at $1249 per month, roughly €1170. With a $7500 down payment, the rent drops to $999 per month (€935), which still totals $36,000 (€33,600) over the term. Nothing to sneeze at…

For the wild Cyberbeast version, with zero down payment, monthly costs jump to $1439 (€1345) or $1024 (€1130).

For the more daring, Tesla also offers a 24-month leasing option, but then the monthly payments are even higher. Still, whether you lease or buy, it’s costly, but the advantage is not risking losing even more money later on resale of the Cybertruck. Because that’s the big risk with this highly divisive vehicle, even in the United States…
