Attention Skoda, you’ll need to do better than that!
The Skoda Peaq, the future large electric SUV from the Czech brand, is unveiled in sketches ahead of its official presentation.
On June 23, Skoda will unveil the Peaq, its new 100% electric flagship. A large family SUV measuring nearly 4.90 meters, capable of accommodating up to seven passengers, with an announced range of over 600 km and the ambition to compete with models such as the Kia EV9 or the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 9. On paper, the program is attractive.
The problem is that, at this stage, the design struggles to convince.
Indeed, it is always tricky to judge a vehicle from simple sketches. It is also true that giving character to a large family SUV is a much more complicated exercise than designing a sports coupe or a roadster. But the first sketches of the Peaq leave a feeling of incompleteness.
Skoda highlights its new stylistic language “Modern Solid,” with its T-shaped light signatures, Tech-Deck Face front, and clean surfaces. However, the overall look appears surprisingly generic. The proportions are similar to almost all current large electric SUVs, while the volumes lack depth and personality.
The Deconstructed Vision 7S
Where the 2022 Vision 7S concept displayed true boldness and a strong identity, the production model seems to have lost part of that uniqueness along the way.

Some distinctive elements are still present, particularly the T-shaped lights and the front light strip. But in a market where every manufacturer seeks to impose its visual signature, the Peaq seems more like a follower of trends than a creator.
This is all the more unfortunate as this SUV is particularly ambitious from a technical standpoint: Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, fast charging, bidirectional charging, ultra-spacious interior, and next-generation onboard technologies.

Now we await the final version. Because behind these sketches, there could still be a pleasant surprise. But for a model set to become the new flagship of Skoda, we expected a bit more boldness and much more emotion.
