Alpine A290: Its options will inflate the bill

Driving an Alpine A290 won’t be common for a few months, but there is a way to stand out even more from the crowd.

The starting price of the Alpine A290 has been set at 34,700 euros, after deducting the ecological bonus of 4,000 euros, for the GT trim with 180 horsepower engine.

This version is already very well equipped, but of course, if you choose it, you risk crossing paths with twins of your beautiful Alpine at every corner. So what to choose from the vast catalog of options to make your 100% electric A290 a unique car?

The car is offered in a standard black paint. It’s subtle but not particularly exciting, so why not opt for the much more original naval white? If you didn’t know, white was the favorite color of Jean Rédélé, the creator of the brand with the arrowed A. All new models were presented in white, and it was only due to the success of the French blue that the Dieppe native decided to make it the main color of his cars. The solid white option costs 900 euros, and you’ll need to budget 1,400 euros if you choose the black roof. It’s more expensive, but more appealing, and above all, it looks less like a Renault 5…

We absolutely do not like the 19-inch Iconic wheels, as the large square in the center weighs down the overall line. We much prefer the diamond Snowflake wheels which only add 500 euros to the bill but provide a real sporty upgrade. It is possible to add red or blue brake calipers for 400 euros, but Alpine also offers glossy black aerodynamic discs that give a little Group B rally style and cost only 300 euros. Indispensable, we also include the wheel centers with the Alpine logo on a blue background for 150 euros.

For fun, we also really like the blue anodized roof trim at 100 euros and the Alpine emblem on the front fenders for 90 euros. Finally, the Alpine is French and very French, so it is impossible to do without the French flag on the C-pillar. Our beautiful Alpine deserves it.

In the end, we arrive at a total of 37,240 euros, which includes 2,540 euros in options. All of this isn’t necessarily essential, let alone reasonable, but we can comfort ourselves by saying that smoothed out over 36 months, that’s only 70 euros per month.
