Alpine: 70 Years of a French Legend – Episode 1

Created by Jean Rédélé in July 1955, Alpine was born from the bold vision of a young entrepreneur passionate about automobiles.

At just 32 years old, Jean Rédélé founded Automobiles Alpine and showcased his first creations: three A106s. These models, lined up in blue, white, and red outside Renault’s historic headquarters in Boulogne-Billancourt, symbolize Rédélé’s ambition to build a French sports brand rooted in Renault mechanics. The staging convinced Renault, which provided its support. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of an exceptional human, industrial, and sporting adventure that continues today and continues to write the history of the automobile.

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of this icon, Alpine is launching a special series recounting the key moments of its saga. Titled “Alpine, 70 Years”, this project explores various thematic episodes covering the challenges, successes, and future prospects of the brand.

The first episode, “The Legend of Alpine”, delves into the origins of this epic while exploring current challenges related to the transition to electric mobility. Two privileged witnesses share their vision: Philippe Krief, current CEO of Alpine, and Jean-Charles Rédélé, son of the founder. An amateur racing driver of great talent, Jean-Charles embodies the family legacy by piloting a modern Alpine A110 GT4 and collecting historical models of the brand.

Within this unique setting, in his collection located in the former production facilities of the first Alpines in Paris, Jean-Charles welcomes viewers to this very charming film. This historic place beautifully illustrates the link between Alpine’s modest beginnings and its current international influence. Through this episode, the brand with the arrowed A celebrates not only a rich heritage but also a dynamic future-oriented approach, ready to face the new challenges of an industry in full transformation.
