A Grenade for the Firefighters!
The INEOS Grenadier 4X4 will be used as an operational command vehicle by the firefighters of Grenoble.
The Grenoble Fire Brigade has received two INEOS Grenadiers as operational command vehicles. The 4X4 was chosen for its robust features, its ability to overcome difficult terrains, and its versatility for transporting firefighters and their equipment.

The two Grenadiers will be operated by the SDIS (Departmental Fire and Rescue Service) responsible for various civil protection, security, and rescue missions across Isère. The two Grenadiers entering service with the SDIS are five-seater Utility Wagons. Designed as a blank canvas, the basic specifications offer operators wide possibilities to customize interior and exterior layouts to create a vehicle perfectly suited to their needs.
In the service of the firefighters
The SDIS has configured its Grenadiers with a number of modifications specifically designed to support crews in various emergency situations. The custom modifications include Level 1 safety glass protection, aluminium front and rear light protections, a 6mm thick aluminium armored underbody plate, and a universal towing interface. Additionally, the vehicle features an Antares radio system, a siren, flashing lights, and spotlights, finished in special red paint with a yellow roof and bumpers, and the SDIS livery.

Powered by a 3.0-liter BMW twin-turbo six-cylinder diesel engine, the SDIS vehicles feature the Smooth and Rough configurations offered to all clients. The Smooth pack includes a rearview camera, electrically heated exterior mirrors, and auxiliary charging outlets, while the Rough pack incorporates BFGoodrich off-road tires and locking differentials on the front, middle, and rear axles. Both vehicles are also equipped with a high-performance front winch.
