We finally know what the Tesla Robovan will be used for, and it’s great!
The Tesla Robovan will soon be used as a collective transport means in the Tesla Loop in Las Vegas.
Tesla and The Boring Company are preparing the Robovan for its first concrete mission in Las Vegas: managing traffic spikes in the underground network of the Vegas Loop. According to Steve Davis, president of The Boring Company, interviewed by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Robovan will be deployed once the Loop covers the Strip and downtown, with a fleet reaching around 1,200 Teslas.
The Robovan will be used during major events and games when thousands of people head to the same location. Davis specifies: “If you know that many people are going to the stadium or a show, it’s better to deploy a high-capacity vehicle like the Robovan.” This helps optimize traffic and avoid congestion in the Vegas Loop.
The Robovan has a future!
The Vegas Loop, already operational for connecting certain stations to Harry Reid Airport, plans a phase 2 that will add a bidirectional 3.5 km tunnel between Westgate and Paradise Road, allowing speeds of up to 95 km/h and a fleet of 160 vehicles.

The following phases are expected to bring the network closer to the airport terminals and include several additional stations, with a total potential fleet of 300 Teslas.

Ultimately, the Robovan could transform urban transport in Las Vegas, combining electric vehicles and underground mobility to quickly and efficiently move large crowds during major city events. The project remains ambitious, but it illustrates the capability of Tesla and The Boring Company to rethink urban mobility.
