A very mysterious new car from Kia!

After teasing the EV2, Kia showcases a new vehicle that could significantly change its electric offering.

Kia continues to surprise. Just a few days after the official teaser of the EV2, the Korean manufacturer unveiled a new preview of a mysterious vehicle, announcing “a new future on the horizon”.

This visual, published yesterday on social media, shows the silhouette of a sedan with sharp lines, clearly distinct from the current offering of the Korean manufacturer. The image is understated, but it hints at a sporty and assertive design. Kia refers to it as “The Kia Concept,” leaving room for doubt: could it be the next generation of the Stinger, its iconic sports sedan?

Stinger is back?

Since the discontinuation of the thermal Stinger in 2023, rumors of a 100% electric version have regularly circulated. Referred to as EV8 or GT1 by some media, this new Stinger could be part of Kia’s strategy to expand its electric range, positioned between the entry-level EV1 and the imposing SUV EV9.

If the project is confirmed, this 100% electric Stinger would likely be built on the E-GMP platform, already used by high-performance models from Hyundai and Kia. This architecture allows for a range of over 480 km, rapid charging from 10 to 80% in less than 20 minutes, as well as high-performance variants, up to 600 hp, with 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds.
