Leapmotor Irmscher C10: Will tuning electrify Germany?
The German tuner Irmscher, with the cooperation of Leapmotor, is selling 250 hyper-tuned examples of the electric C10 SUV.
We love Germany for its beer, its sausages, its landscapes… but also for its taste for tuning. No condescending irony, just a light touch of humour about this somewhat anachronistic passion in 2025. But if this sector can act as a Trojan horse to make the electric accepted, then you have to play that card.
That’s partly Leapmotor‘s logic to promote the new 800-volt platform of its mid-size electric SUV, the C10. Fitted with all-wheel drive and an 81.9 kWh battery, this architecture called the C10 ProMax is new to Europe for the Chinese manufacturer. And to promote it, they had to find a somewhat different megaphone.
The tuner Irmscher, known in Germany mainly for its Opel-based upgrades, answered the call to give the electric SUV a more macho edge. Thus, power now stands at 440 kW (598 hp), with 720 Nm of torque. Alas, efficiency is hardly impressive, at 20.9 kWh/100 km, which implies a range of only 437 kilometres on the WLTP combined cycle.
Supercar performance
The acceleration is lightning-fast, with 0–100 km/h dispatched in 4.0 seconds. The chassis is lowered and the damping stiffened to contain body movements of this battery SUV, whose mass obviously flirts with two tonnes.

The design has also been slightly altered, with 20-inch wheels, a black body colour highlighted by a red pinstripe, and a trunk spoiler. Reserved for the German market, only 250 examples will be produced by Irmscher at a unit price of €49,900. One might even call it a future collector’s item…
If this tuned version doesn’t appeal to you, you can always opt for the C10 ProMax configuration, enjoying the same performance and range thanks to the four-wheel drive, but sold from €44,900. And if the rear-wheel-drive version is enough for you, it will start (still in Germany) from €41,900 with 510 kilometres of range. Not exactly cause for excitement with nearly 82 kWh of battery…
