The English media, always quite anti-French, dropped the bomb on Renault by exclusively releasing the studio shots of the new electric Twingo, which is officially set to be unveiled on Thursday, November 6, 2025.

Putting aside the regret over this method, let’s focus on the essentials: the new Twingo. And the result is simply fantastic, very faithful to the concept car revealed just over a year ago.

One might accuse Renault of riding on nostalgia, but unlike the Fiat 500e, this new Twingo seems in tune with customer expectations. Starting with the presence of 4 doors for practical family use.

Then there’s the look — playful and colorful, just like the first Twingo in the early 1990s. That’s what made it successful. With its cheerful “eyes,” this Renault will brighten up streets and roads. The proportions are respected, and road handling should be very safe with large, wide wheels.

Any further information would just be speculation, so let’s wait for the official reveal tomorrow to learn more about the technical specifications. As an entry-level electric model, the new Twingo aims for a launch price below 20,000 euros in France, around 17,000 euros after the CEE incentive.

The question remains of cannibalizing the customer base, as the R5 in Renault’s catalog is selling quite well. Will this still be the case with the Twingo, smaller and more practical in the city, as well as more affordable?
