Fisker Ronin: a new kind of electric GT

Until now very pragmatic, Fisker Inc is about to loosen up with a powerful electric GT.

Fisker has just announced the arrival of a new model in its lineup: the Ronin. Prefigured by the teaser image above, this vehicle will take the form of a large four-seater GT, halfway between a classic coupe and a sedan. The Ronin will also feature a retractable roof and will of course be electric.

The founder and CEO of the brand has no doubt: this new model will push the boundaries of electric cars. “The goal is to achieve the longest range in the world for a mass-produced electric vehicle, combined with extremely high performance levels”, Henrik Fisker explains indeed.

Batteries integrated into the structure

At this stage, these enthusiastic words are not backed by any official numerical data. However, an English media outlet claims to have obtained some interesting information from Henrik Fisker himself. He reportedly mentioned a range of over 1,000 km on the WLTP cycle and a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in less than two seconds.

The Ronin will benefit from extensive aerodynamic work and will use many lightweight materials. The car will also innovate by having batteries directly integrated into the structure.

The name of the model is a nod to the film Ronin. Henrik Fisker clearly liked this feature film and especially “its famous chase scenes” (according to the statement).

Two other models in preparation

Fisker is scheduled to present the Ronin in August 2023. If all goes as planned, the first units will roll off the production lines in the second half of 2024.

Before the Ronin, Fisker will have launched its Ocean SUV, currently in the final stages of development. Production of this model is set to begin in November 2022. In parallel, the manufacturer is also working on the Pear, an electric compact car priced below $30,000. The launch is planned for 2024.
