Newcomer to the electric vehicle market, the Vietnamese manufacturer VinFast is launching its entry into Europe. It currently offers two fairly premium SUVs: the VF 8 and the VF 9.
Positioned in the D-SUV segment, the VF 8 is already a sizable vehicle, but the VF 9 is even more imposing. Over 5 meters long, it can seat up to 7 passengers.
The range of each model includes two finishes (Eco or Plus), but mainly two levels of autonomy. On the VF 8, the finish also determines the power of the electric motor. The most favorable setup for range theoretically allows for 471 km between charges on the VF 8, and 580 km on the VF 9 (WLTP cycle).
Battery leasing options
VinFast has opted for the surprising choice of initially requiring battery leasing, similar to what Renault did with the Zoe a few years ago. Even when paying outright, you will still need to pay monthly installments (€120 for the VF 8, €150 for the VF 9). Without this system, the prices would be significantly higher.

Also Long-Term Leases
VinFast also offers long-term leasing (LLD) for 37 months with unlimited mileage. These plans include battery rental. Monthly payments start at €599 for the VF 8 and €899 for the VF 9. The initial deposit is respectively set at €4,650 and €6,350. However, these amounts are after deducting the bonus (€1,000 only for VF 8) and ongoing promotions until the end of May (up to €4,200 off on the VF 9).
