More ambitious than the U5, the Aiways U6 may allow the Chinese brand to make a name for itself in Europe.
Although it is already present in France, the Chinese manufacturer Aiways has not yet established a strong reputation here. Currently, it only sells the U5, a fully electric SUV, comparable to a Volkswagen ID.4 in terms of size. This model, with its very classic lines, has the main advantage of a particularly attractive price (starting from 39,900 euros, excluding bonuses).
With the new U6, Aiways remains faithful to electric propulsion but dares a more striking style. According to information leaked by local media, customers can choose from 3 batteries, all supplied by CATL: one of 63 kWh, another of 72 kWh, and a third of 88 kWh. With the first, the U6 is credited with a range of 503 km, according to the Chinese homologation cycle. The second offers a theoretical range of 580 km, while the third could travel 650 km between charges. The electric motor delivers a power of 160 kW (approximately 215 hp) and 315 Nm of torque. It allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 7 seconds.

The U6 measures 4.81 meters long. It is therefore slightly longer than a Skoda Enyaq Coupé, which is 4.65 meters. Inside, the interior does not hold any major surprises. The dashboard features a floating 14.6-inch touchscreen. The driver faces a slim digital display with an 8.2-inch diagonal.
The U6 will begin its career in China. Prices have not yet been announced, but Aiways has opened reservation books. This model is expected to arrive in Europe slightly later. The Chinese company also presented the U6 concept on the Champs-Elysées in June 2022.
