Dacia Jogger Hybride

After electric technology on its micro-city car Spring, Dacia is taking the step into hybridization with its raised wagon Jogger.

Better late than never. It has only been three years since the Renault Group showed interest in hybrid powertrains, with the launch of the Clio E-Tech in early 2020. Under the hood of the small car, there is a 1.6 naturally aspirated engine from Nissan developing 91 hp, combined with two small electric motors (total power of 140 hp) and a battery supplied by Hitachi with lithium-ion technology of 1.2 kWh. Unlike the continuously variable transmissions of the competitor Toyota, Renault Group has chosen a dog clutch gearbox, whose main goal is to limit friction losses and optimize energy recovery. This technology is now extended to the entire Renault lineup.

At Dacia, however, only the small Spring met the “clean car” criteria. Now, the new Jogger is also available and will be showcased at the Paris Motor Show, adopting the same Full Hybrid powertrain as the Renault Clio E-Tech. However, Dacia does not use the E-Tech label but instead calls it Eco-Smart. Customers will have to wait until early 2023 to order, with initial deliveries planned for spring. The arrival of this new hybrid engine allows Dacia to expand its range upwards, while maintaining the 1.0 Eco-G three-cylinder petrol version with GPL technology in the lineup.

New look, new engine

The Dacia Jogger is also evolving for the occasion of the Motor Show, with the introduction of a new emblem called Dacia Link. This is accompanied by a new logo and new body colors, including a Lichen Kaki inspired by eco themes. Finally, note that the roof bars are now a new color, Mithalite Gray.
