The City of Rouen Orders 76 Electric Buses

Rouen Normandy Metropolitan Area has ordered 76 electric buses from the Dutch company Ebusco. The first deliveries are expected as early as 2023.
We are about to witness a beautiful love story between the bus manufacturer Ebusco and the Norman city of Rouen, after the Dutch company’s announcement of sharing its premises at the Renault factory in Cléon (Seine Maritime). The company is expected to produce up to 500 buses per year and hire up to 350 people.
Good news that comes with more: after testing electric buses in spring, the City of Rouen, satisfied with these tests, has confirmed its purchase option for 76 new models. Specifically, 28 units will be delivered in 2023, followed by additional units in 2024 and 2025, at a unit cost of 1 million euros.
Interesting Range
The selected model has not yet been defined, as there are two versions of the Ebusco 2.2: the first with its 350 kWh battery pack enabling the electric bus to travel up to 350 km, and the second with additional batteries for a capacity of 500 kWh, which would then allow the Ebusco 2.2 to theoretically reach 450 km. All urban and regional routes could thus be covered during the day, while at night, the buses will be recharged at a depot to be ready for the next day’s operation.
Among the standard features offered, there are LED lights, air conditioning, electric heating, a heat pump, and even USB ports.
