Line 12, the new nightmare of the Paris metro?
This page is translated from the original post "Ligne 12, nouveau cauchemar du métro parisien ?" in French.

All users of the Paris metro are affected by the service degradation, but some are more affected than others.
Based on data collected between November 22 and January 4, a 22-year-old engineer, who also uses Parisian transportation and is a victim of repeated delays, has prepared a report on the quality of the metro. Interviewed by Le Parisien, the young man explained that he undertook this work to “turn his anger into something useful”.
The study, based on real-time information shared on the RATP website, confirms that the quality of service has seriously deteriorated. It also reveals significant disparities between lines. Line 12 is the most critical, with an average of 5 hours and 35 minutes of disruptions per day. This line also has the highest number of incidents. Their causes vary: on line 12, they mainly stem from operational difficulties (48 incidents), people on the tracks (27), and forgotten luggage (17).
Critical situation also on metro line 8
The second place in this unfortunate ranking goes to line 8, with an average of 5 hours of disruptions per day. Line 6 completes the podium, while line 13, which has a notorious reputation, ranks only 9th. Note that the duration of disruptions is not directly correlated to the number of incidents. For example, there are more incidents on line 4 than on line 6, but they have a lesser impact on service operation.
The RATP acknowledges that there are problems and promises to take necessary measures to resolve them quickly. Additional drivers are currently being recruited. Improvements could be seen by the end of the quarter. In the meantime, metro users, who have seen the Navigo pass increase by about 12%, must be patient.
