Initially, Toyota will offer a cargo bike model, officially named “Douze Cycles x La mobilité Toyota”. With a molded aluminum frame, this two-wheeled cargo bike is made in France. It features a large front loading platform, on which a 300-liter box can be added. By selecting accessories from the catalog, customers can adapt this space for transporting children. Passengers will sit on fabric-upholstered seats with seat belts. A footrest has also been provided to facilitate boarding the box.
A Toyota electric bike with 100 km of range
The front and rear parts of the Douze Cycles and Toyota bikes can be separated to facilitate storage of the cargo bike. The electric assistance, provided by Yamaha, is described as “particularly powerful”. It is connected to a removable 500 Wh battery, which offers up to 100 km of range on a single charge. The cable-controlled steering, which is a point of pride for Douze Cycles, benefits both maneuverability and precision of the bike.
The price has not yet been announced by Toyota. On Douze Cycles’ website, the cargo bike range starts at €5,290.
