Fisker Pear: an electric crossover for €28,000?
This page is translated from the original post "Fisker Pear : un crossover électrique à 28 000 € ?" in French.

The small American manufacturer Fisker is back. No fewer than two models are on the agenda with the Ocean and the Pear, which could arrive in Europe at a competitive price.
It was in 2012. An opportunity was given to me to try out for a weekend an extraterrestrial. Completely unknown to the general public, the Fisker Karma made its appearance on the French market. A timid appearance, but with incredibly futuristic lines for the time. Very close to the concept car, the Karma drew inspiration from the Aston Martin DB9 and the BMW Z8. Indeed, its creator Henrik Fisker had previously worked as a designer at these prestigious brands and decided to launch his own brand.
This large four-door coupe (5 meters long and still 1.99 meters wide) stood out with its endless hood and impressive 22-inch wheels. I remember the amazed looks of passersby at the time when this “machine” passed by, not to mention the crowds around the gas station.

Because this Fisker Karma was a plug-in hybrid. It was powered by Super 98 fuel, but also by electricity with a 20.1 kWh battery and two 150 kW electric motors. Too far ahead of its time, not very reliable, but also very expensive (starting at €109,500 in 2012, not including the €3,500 eco bonus), it did not achieve success.
After many turbulences, Fisker is back with two new models: the Ocean and the Pear, which is revealed more today.
A very attractive price?
This crossover measures 4.50 meters long and is built on a steel platform (FP28), which is less expensive to produce than the aluminum platform of the Ocean. This new model will be manufactured by Foxconn, in the former General Motors facilities located in Ohio (USA). According to Fisker, 250,000 units could come out of the factories each year, for a price set at $29,900, or roughly €28,000.

New visuals reveal a model with rather rectangular lines, comparable in spirit to a Kia Soul. Among the details that would make the difference: an original front and rear light signature, and a roof with solar modules, very useful for capturing energy.
The range could also exceed 500 km according to WLTP standards, making it a quite family-oriented model. But we are still waiting for technical details.
An arrival in Europe, and thus in France, may be considered in 2024.
