New Tesla Model 3 Incoming? No Deliveries Before November

Tesla enjoys building anticipation around the aesthetic and technical update of its Model 3. But some clues reveal what’s really coming.

Let’s be objective: the Model 3 has become less popular since the arrival of the Model Y, its lifted counterpart. Evidence includes the trade discounts that the American manufacturer is now offering, as supply exceeds demand. In reality, nothing serious—competitors are also running offers. But it’s never easy to shout it from the rooftops when you’re trying to suggest you’re above the competition.

Many prototypes of the new version—and not the entire new generation—of the Model 3 are currently circulating around North America and Asia… where this car is manufactured. European units are all produced in China, while the Model Y rolls off the lines in Berlin, Germany.

Predictions point to a forthcoming presentation of “phase 2” of the Model 3, followed by imminent production. Then, it will take time to ship the units by sea from China. Tesla’s commercial site warns that any new deliveries of the Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive or Long Range will not be fulfilled before October-November 2023. As for the Performance version, customers will have to wait until January 2024. A clear sign something is brewing behind the scenes.
