The Tesla Model 3 available only in 3 colors in France

Disappointment for those willing to choose an original color for their future Tesla Model 3: only three shades are offered.

The Tesla catalog continues to fluctuate. Almost no day without price updates, options, availability, etc. At the end of October 2023, we discover that two shades, one probably the most beautiful, have disappeared from the options list. Farewell, ruby red and graphite gray.

Now, only one color is offered without extra charge on the new Tesla Model 3, the multi-layer pearl white. Strange when, on the Tesla Model Y, two are free: white and black. On the Model 3, the same black costs 1300 euros. Same for the ultramarine blue.

The first deliveries of the new Tesla Model 3, called “Highland”, have begun in Europe after a worldwide reveal on September 1, 2023. The price for this significant technical and aesthetic update has increased slightly by 1000 euros, starting at 42,990 euros before a 5,000-euro ecological bonus. That makes a base price of 37,990 euros, a very fair offer considering the qualities of the American sedan (produced in China).

The explanation for this rationalization—which is known to be very temporary—lies in the slow ramp-up of production for this new version. The Chinese factory responsible for Model 3 destined for Europe had to undergo significant modernization. The very low sales of this model in China also reveal Tesla’s hesitancy to push the commercialization of its new creation too far, in order to avoid disappointment.

Things will gradually return to normal, and prices could also drop significantly. If you are not in a hurry, wait until 2024. A tip: Chinese manufacturers will seriously cut prices in Europe, which is becoming their new target for global expansion. Tesla and others will have to adapt…
