Tesla Model 3: Price Increase Once Again

After the Model Y, Tesla continues to raise its prices in China with the Model 3, before a similar implementation in Europe?

Same cause, same effect? A few days after the Model Y, Tesla has decided to increase the price of its new Model 3 on the Chinese market. Competition is fierce in the electric market, and Tesla signals the end of the game: “you’re devouring each other among Chinese manufacturers, I’m re-establishing my margins“.

For now, the decision has only been finalized for the Model 3 Long Range version, but the same logic was then applied to the Propulsion if we refer to the Model Y. The price adjustment is nevertheless minimal: +1500 yuan, or 192 euros.

Now, the Long Range version is priced at 297,400 yuan, or 38,200 euros. In France, this same version starts at 50,990 euros and is therefore not eligible for the 5,000-euro ecological bonus. The Propulsion version remains at 259,900 yuan, or 33,400 euros.

Finally, note that the price of the Model 3 could increase by 5,000 euros from 2024 if it loses its eligibility for the ecological bonus. Its Chinese production, in Shanghai, is likely to penalize it… to the great benefit of the Model Y manufactured in Germany for the European market.
