Hankook All-Season Tire for Electric Vehicles

This all-season tire for passenger cars and electric SUVs completes Hankook’s iON range.

The premium tire manufacturer Hankook introduces the new iON FlexClimate, its first all-season tire specifically designed for electric vehicles.

One of the main technical features of the new iON FlexClimate is the presence of special 3D sipes on the tread. They provide the tire with excellent grip on dry, wet, and even lightly snowy surfaces. The iON FlexClimate tire bears M+S and 3PMSF (Three Peak Mountain Snow Flake) markings, making it suitable for year-round use in many European countries.

A tire suited for electric vehicles

In the new iON FlexClimate, Hankook has taken into account the higher weight of electric vehicles by incorporating a reinforced belt with resistant aramid fibers and an even distribution of load across the entire width of the tread. This enhances load capacity per tire, effectively counters high-speed deformation effects, and ensures precise steering and good stability during cornering. Additionally, the particularly uniform load distribution reduces tread wear. Thanks to the new Grip Boost technology, the rigidity of the tire’s sidewalls, combined with the aramid belt, is increased by 20% compared to conventional all-season tires for internal combustion engine vehicles, according to the manufacturer.

The new iON FlexClimate is available in 8 common sizes for passenger cars and SUVs. The range will then be expanded in the near future to include other popular sizes between 17 and 21 inches.
