Chinese giant BYD equips its cars with a brain

During the BYD Dream Day 2024 held at its global headquarters in Shenzhen, BYD unveiled its tremendous ambitions.

Having become the world’s leading manufacturer of electric vehicles this year, BYD proudly revealed its integrated intelligence strategy within vehicles as well as the launch of the XUANJI architecture, opening a new path in the development of intelligent new energy vehicles.

With XUANJI, an automotive platform for the first time integrates the concept of intelligence directly into the vehicle’s structure. The core of the car incorporates an electronic brain and a neural network, enabling an efficient blend of electrification and intelligence. This system transparently and in real-time perceives changes in the vehicle’s internal and external environment. It consolidates information at the millisecond level and relays it to the central “brain” for quick decision-making. This system quickly adjusts the vehicle’s state, significantly enhancing safety and driving comfort.

Thus, XUANJI marks the first application of AI technology across all vehicle domains. Thanks to data collected from millions of BYD vehicles on the road, it possesses the industry’s largest database combined with high computing power, endowing the vehicle’s integrated intelligent system with continuous and real-time adaptability.

Regarding autonomous driving, with over 4,000 engineers dedicated to this field, BYD is the first automaker to receive a Level 3 testing license, the highest level, which corresponds to fully autonomous driving without human intervention. In the future, BYD aims to further reduce barriers to intelligent driving by offering more advanced technologies at competitive costs to accelerate adoption in the global market.
