The Q6 e-tron, Audi’s Porsche Macan counterpart, is approaching

The electric SUV from Audi, which shares the same platform as the Porsche Macan, is preparing for its public reveal.

The group synergy continues to run at full throttle within the Volkswagen group. The investments, both financial, human, and industrial, are such that sharing the risk is relevant. Likewise, this allows for rapid acceleration in technology to catch up with Tesla, the benchmark.

This gap is narrowing increasingly, so much so that the light is at the end of the tunnel for Porsche, Audi, as well as Volkswagen and the ten brands of the German group. The Tesla wave has not yet swept everything away, and traditional manufacturers will now be able to deploy their offerings and regain their initial customers.

To do so, they have arguments to support, such as manufacturing quality, reliability, attention to detail, and the network of dealerships and workshops. These are areas where the American giant still struggles. And we’re not even talking about Chinese players.

The Q6 e-tron, a simple Macan rebadged?

The platform sharing is not new for Audi and Porsche. Each of the two brands has a distinct positioning, and the visual interface between human and machine is also different. Porsche targets dynamic and busy families, while Audi appeals to more balanced profiles seeking comfort.

The interior reveal is the next step towards an imminent presentation of the Audi Q6 e-tron. Digitization is pushed to the extreme with screens everywhere. The entire dashboard is covered. Eyes no longer look at the landscape, which is somewhat unfortunate. Because traveling is mainly about appreciating what surrounds us. The next step will certainly be autonomous driving and the pursuit of “zero boredom”…

For the technical sheet, simply refer to the Porsche Macan 4S and Turbo to start. It features a 95 kWh battery powering electric motors with a combined power of 408 or 639 horsepower. Other, less aggressive versions will obviously join the range of both manufacturers in the future.
