Eligible for the bonus, the Mini Countryman E starting at 39,000 euros

Produced at the BMW factory in Leipzig, Germany, the Countryman E is the first model from Mini eligible for the ecological bonus.

The ecological bonus and Mini, now that’s a long tumultuous history. If you refer to the list of cars eligible for government aid, the Mini Cooper SE appears. But beware: this is the old version, not the new one. The latter is currently produced in China and does not benefit from the €5,000 bonus.

Unfortunately, this same bonus list has yet to be updated with the arrival on the market of new electric cars. For example, the Fisker Ocean isn’t listed, even though it is produced in Austria. The same goes for the new Mini Countryman, which BMW (owner of the British firm) assembles in its German factory in Leipzig on the same line as its cousin the iX1.

Starting at 39,000 euros with the bonus

Thanks to the bonus, the new Countryman is not too badly positioned… in absolute terms. In reality, it remains a vehicle that claims to be Premium and therefore elitist. Two trim levels (Essential and Classic) qualify for the bonus, both with 2-wheel drive E versions with 150 kW (204 hp). All other versions are priced above the €47,000 limit.

Prices of the Mini Countryman Electric

It is interesting to note that thanks to the bonus, there is parity in price between electric and thermal Countryman.

The all-wheel-drive versions benefit from 230 kW (313 horsepower) but use the same 64.7 kWh battery. Charging supports up to 130 kW, which is still not extraordinary for a car at this price level. As for range, it varies from 462 to 433 km depending on the power level.

For launch, Mini is offering a Long-Term Rental (LTD) deal of 36 months and 30,000 kilometers starting at €495 per month without a down payment.
