Driving a Rivian R1T in France? It’s possible!
The biggest rival to the Tesla Cybertruck, the electric pickup Rivian R1T, is not officially sold in France. But there is a workaround.
Driving an American car is no longer an eccentricity. Tesla or Ford are increasingly making their vehicles available on more markets. Commerce is becoming more and more “global,” meaning worldwide.
Nevertheless, the notoriety of very young new brands, such as Rivian, which interests us here, creates some impatience in Europe, especially in France. Homologating a car at a continental level remains very costly, as does developing a network of official dealerships/re-sellers.

However, a whole network of importers exists in France, and the most reputable one remains American Car City, based in the Paris region. On its website, it is possible to order a Rivian R1T pickup or an R1S SUV.
Admittedly, the prices are very high – from 130,000 euros excluding tax to 155,000 euros including tax – but the offered versions are fully equipped. The battery packs are always the largest to ensure ranges of around 500 kilometers and very generous power between 674 and 847 horsepower!
Not surprisingly, and conversely, the Tesla Cybertruck is not available…
