Tesla’s robot makes giant leaps forward

Like a child, Tesla’s humanoid robot continues its learning process. And Optimus, its nickname, seems to be a prodigy!

It’s not quite a metallic human yet, fortunately perhaps, but Optimus is advancing towards greater autonomy.In the latest demonstration video shared on X, the social network of the robot’s father, Elon Musk, the anthropomorphism of the bot is increasing. We see it with a very confident gait, negotiating changes of direction smoothly, very far from the stumbling steps of the machine in public just seven months ago.

During a prototype demonstration in October, Musk stated that Tesla would be able to produce “millions” of humanoid robots in the coming years and sell them for less than 20,000 dollars, half the price of a Model Y, an assertion that raised some eyebrows.

In this episode, what stands out most is the robot’s ability to adjust its trajectory without stopping to move forward. An incredibly simple task for a human but much more challenging for robots.

Each new step by Optimus reinforces Tesla’s ambition to mass-produce humanoid robots that are as human… as possible.
