Tesla Has Its Own 5G Network in Berlin

When you want something to be done well, do it yourself. Tesla is venturing into telecommunications!

Tesla has deployed a high-speed private 5G network at its Gigafactory in Germany. This should allow all units of the massive factory to operate efficiently along the entire production line with optimal responsiveness.

In a video published on Tesla Manufacturing’s page on X (formerly Twitter) Tuesday, Tesla presented this 5G network during meetings with some employees.

Tesla is one of the first companies to use this technology in one of its factories, and plans to extend this system to its other sites worldwide. With electric autonomy, this marks a new milestone in Berlin and a step further toward independence and protection against potential nuisances. Recall that in March, an intentionally set fire on a high-voltage electrical pole near the production site caused a power outage. Tesla had to immediately shut down production at its German factory in Grünheide, losing several million euros while restoring power.

This network mainly ensures that Tesla can use the Internet over long distances, especially in critical areas inside and outside the factory.
