The Wall Street Journal hasn’t sugarcoated things in recent days by announcing the company’s impending bankruptcy. It is true that the brand has lost 99% of its value in 3 years… The Fisker stock lost 30% of its value shortly thereafter, but at less than 20 cents a share, it’s a minor detail considering the challenges faced by the brand. The loss in the last quarter indeed reached $1.23 per share, amounting to 463 million! It’s no surprise when you’re unable to produce 66% of the volumes necessary for breakeven.

A bankruptcy filing does not necessarily spell the end of everything. It can also present a new hope for survival with the freezing of debts and financial oversight.

The financial markets and the realm of automotive rumors had announced just a few days ago an alliance between Fisker and Nissan. But with the engaged announcement between Nissan and Honda, negotiations have become complicated. However, Fisker assures that discussions are still open without mentioning the Japanese manufacturer. Perhaps another avenue? Because the brand has plenty of advantages to attract a partner. The new platform of the Fisker Alaska pickup could quickly and cost-effectively enrich a 100% electric SUV range. The Fisker Ocean could also be rebranded and developed into a sedan or Coupe SUV. All of this could accelerate the electric transition of a struggling historic manufacturer, and believe me, they are numerous. However, it will still take a small half a billion euros to do so…
