When Javier Milei, the most Rock n Roll head of state, meets Elon Musk, the most eccentric and divisive entrepreneur, it certainly creates a buzz.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk welcomed Argentine President Javier Milei on Friday at Tesla’s headquarters in Austin, Texas. Amid a couple of awkward photo sessions, the two men reportedly agreed to work together to promote free markets and discussed potential projects in lithium.

With a leather jacket and rocker look for the Argentine President, an astronaut jacket and a belt buckle of a true Texan raised on hormone-fed beef for the American, the two strongmen of the American continent have been nurturing their converging thoughts in recent months, engaging in a courtship that ultimately led to this meeting.

The interview was held behind closed doors and the only photos that leaked were naturally shared on X (formerly Twitter), Musk’s social network. The two free market advocates discussed issues ranging from the expected, such as how to promote entrepreneurship by reducing red tape, to the more unexpected, like the dangers of the declining global birth rate…

Milei’s office stated that the president had offered to assist Musk in the conflict between X and Brazilian authorities, who accused Musk of obstruction for defying a judge’s order to block certain accounts.

The two men also agreed to jointly organize a major event in Argentina to promote freedom, without providing further details.
