Mr. Jean has traveled around the Earth 11 times without emissions

Jean, a VTC driver in Ile-de-France, has driven nearly 500,000 km in his first-generation all-electric Kia Niro.

Kia France introduces Mr. Jean, who has traveled 458,000 km with his Kia e-Niro. An expert in geometry and a former mathematics teacher, he transitioned to being a VTC driver a little over six years ago. In his sixties, Jean has been a Kia customer for five years. His first Kia vehicle, which he still owns today, is a first-generation all-electric Kia e-Niro purchased in May 2019. This fully electric crossover is equipped with a 64 kWh polymer lithium-ion battery, giving it a range of 455 kilometers in the WLTP mixed cycle on a single charge.

Logistically, Jean fully charges his Kia e-Niro at home overnight using his personal 7kW box. He typically begins his workday very early in the morning and finishes in the mid-afternoon. In the morning, he leaves his home fully charged at 100%. To manage his range during the workday, Jean chooses to charge his vehicle at an ultra-fast charging station during his lunch break, aiming to arrive at around 70% battery capacity, which allows him to comfortably finish his afternoon. He drives between 300 and 500 km a day.

A pioneer in sustainable development and a savvy entrepreneur, Jean has installed an entire system of solar panels on the roof of his home, which allows him to cover the cost of his recharges and, at the same time, power his electric car with 100% renewable energy. Jean even manages to sell a portion of the electricity produced at his home back to EDF.
