A6 e-tron Sedan and Wagon: the Audi Freight Train on the Move

Audi presents the new A6 e-tron and S6 e-tron electric models available for order starting October 2024.

Audi has never stooped to raise the challenge against Tesla, preferring to play a well-composed tune: that of the Premium segment. A segment that remains incompatible with the price war initiated by the American automaker to claim its place in the sun.

For Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and others, it was necessary to weather a few years, developing mature products. But also to allow Tesla to take on the task of changing mindsets. Now that customers are ready to switch to electric, the historical manufacturers’ juggernaut will get underway.

Network, customers, after-sales service, everything is in place to reassure, as humans are inherently resistant to change. Doing so in a familiar Audi environment is a colossal advantage that is sometimes underestimated. Thus, with its new A6 and S6 e-tron, Audi plays a scenario that has the merit of not alienating anyone.

XXL Range and Prices

The new A6 e-tron and S6 e-tron in Sportback and Avant versions, available for order starting October 2024, will have prices ranging from €66,500 to €000 for the A6 e-tron versions in France, and around €105,000 for the S6 e-tron. These vehicles, based on the PPE platform, offer exceptional performance, an impressive range of over 757 km, and an optimized aerodynamic design with a Cx value of 0.21 for the Sportback and 0.24 for the Avant. The best in the history of the four rings. Notably, the disappearance of external mirrors, deemed too energy-consuming, has been confirmed.

The electric powertrain range offers up to 370 kW (503 hp) for the S6 e-tron, with a 0 to 100 km/h time of 3.9 seconds. Acceleration is also quick on the charging front, with a power of up to 270 kW, allowing for a recovery of up to 310 km of range in just 10 minutes!

The battery has a capacity of 100 kWh (94.9 kWh net) providing a range of 757 km for the A6 Sportback (sedan) and 721 km for the Avant. Simple rear-wheel drive, they offer 270 kW (367 hp) electric power for a 0 to 100 km/h time of 5.4 seconds.

Note that the S6 version offers a temporary boost of 405 kW, or 550 hp. The range here drops to 676 km for the sedan and 648 km for the Avant due to all-wheel drive and increased power.
