The F1 Spirit is Never Far Away at Mercedes

A top-notch technical foundation and a clear connection to the world of competition. This Mercedes was born under a lucky star.

Mercedes has developed the good habit of using the media spotlight from Formula 1 Grand Prix to unveil its latest creations. After the PureSpeed presented in May at the Monaco Grand Prix, here comes an extreme version of the already uncommon AMG GT 63. At the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix, Mercedes-AMG will unveil the very exclusive GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ “Motorsport Collectors Edition.” One would have to be quite out of touch with F1 to not see any parallels with the Formula 1 cars of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell! 

The link has never been so close between a creation with the star and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 team. Even the base color of metallic obsidian black is inspired by the W14 that the F1 team is using this season. The same goes for the hand-painted silver star pattern on the rear flanks, and the filigree decorative stripes in PETRONAS’ colors. These extend from the front wings to the roof along the belt line. There are also other PETRONAS color contrasts visible on the splitter and the front side air intakes, on the side decorative elements, and on the rear diffuser.

The 21-inch matte black forged wheels with cross spokes do not have wheel covers like F1 cars, which is a good thing because they are stunning and enhanced by the rim edges and the brake calipers colored… PETRONAS. With Mercedes, the oil company really gets its money’s worth!

Is the F1 spirit present?

And that’s not all, as there are also many PETRONAS color details found in the cabin. The standard AMG Performance seats are upholstered in Nappa leather with stitching and embossed AMG badges on the headrests. The AMG carbon decorative elements on the dashboard and center console make it clear that you are indeed in a super sports car. The AMG door sill trims are coated in black and illuminated in those colors… you guessed it. If you feel like challenging the clock, the AMG Track Pace will assist you with a wealth of data while driving on track. To prevent spoiling this playful outing when leaving the circuit, a front axle lift system can be used to raise the front of the Mercedes before crossing speed bumps or curbs.

The “1 out of 200” badge on the center console indicates the number of selected chances for individuals to possess an example of this limited edition. Each customer also receives a personalized AMG cover specific to this edition. With its breathable outer shell made of tear-resistant synthetic fiber fabric and anti-static flannel inner fabric, it protects the vehicle from dust and scratches in the garage.
