Hyundai nano film température

Hyundai has unveiled a groundbreaking yet simple temperature regulation technology aimed at enhancing passenger comfort.

The Korean cousins Kia and Hyundai are undoubtedly at the forefront of the fight against the warming of car interiors. While Nissan bets on specific paints, Hyundai is taking the path of covering. And this last approach seems particularly interesting!

Air conditioning is great, but overusing it is never good. Aside from the hot and cold experiences that all parents know well for ruining quite a few vacations, there is of course the ecological impact of the system that leaves much to be desired. More accessibly, the use of air conditioning increases the consumption of engines, whether they be thermal or electric. Before hitting the road, we always have good intentions, such as opening the window a bit to cool down the inside, but after a few kilometers on the highway, we quickly need to come to our senses and close the window to avoid getting a severe headache. But what if we fought against the source of the overheating instead of trying to counteract it? Prevention rather than cure, in short. Hyundai has decided to explore this avenue and presents an internal development of a cooling nano-film that could lower the interior temperature of vehicles by more than 12°. It consists of three layers, two of which are designed to reflect solar energy while the third emits a wavelength in the mid-infrared range. This is the best way to improve onboard living conditions while reducing cooling needs.

During testing phases, Hyundai prepared a vehicle by applying a nano-film, while leaving another in its original state. The vehicle equipped with regular glass and lacking the nano-film recorded an interior temperature of 48.5°, compared to 36.0° for the vehicle with said nano-film, representing a maximum temperature reduction of 12.5°!

And if the film, in addition to protecting the comfort of the occupants, also protects the body paint from gravel, bird droppings, and other vandalism, what can we say except thank you Hyundai!
