XPENG unveils a P7+ that is almost smarter than you

At the Paris Motor Show, XPENG reaches a milestone with the P7+, the world’s first AI-based sedan.

XPENG, a Chinese automaker specializing in AI mobility, makes a remarkable entrance at the Paris Motor Show with its P7+, the first model in the world based on this technology. According to the manufacturer, the sedan is poised to exceed existing levels of autonomous driving.

“At XPENG, we are convinced that the future of the automotive industry lies in tomorrow’s technology: AI and autonomous driving are set to create the next revolution,” asserts He Xiaopeng, Founder & CEO of XPENG. The technology must benefit the driver. XPENG models currently assist drivers through ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and in the near future, they will make decisions autonomously, becoming the driver’s companion, thus revolutionizing the mobility experience for our customers worldwide. We plan to invest heavily in R&D in the coming months to expand our vehicle offering and provide everyone with an intelligent and innovative solution for a world without accidents, traffic jams, and CO2 emissions.”

An eagle’s eye

The contribution of AI is certainly not a gimmick. This digital co-pilot aims to help drivers enjoy a safer, smarter, and ultimately more pleasant driving experience.

The main feature of an AI-based car is, of course, the ability to learn from the individual behaviors and preferences of users. This technology facilitates driving and enhances the smart driving experience, ensuring the car understands everyone’s needs.

The P7+ integrates AI at several levels: first by embedding it in the vehicle design and chassis, then in the development of the powertrain, and finally in an embedded manner via the driving system, the intelligent cockpit, and XPENG’s AI Hawkeye visual solution. Equipped with two 8M cameras at the front and rear, millimeter-wave radars, and ultrasonic radars, it offers intelligent driving performance comparable to that of costly LiDAR systems and can operate without HD mapping coverage.
