Dacia Bigster

Dacia has decided to offer us a Duster with a bit more of everything. Meet the Bigster with more space but still affordable.

This new Bigster, according to the Renault Group brand, carries attractive values on paper. Essential and Cool, Eco-Smart, Rugged and Outdoor, it targets a very specific customer base who wants to renew a car without breaking the bank, and above all without giving up comfort and space.

In terms of style, no big surprise as this model adopts the winning recipe of the Duster from which it is directly derived. The sense of robustness is ensured by a very vertical and massive front end characteristic of SUVs. This front is also very Dacia with its wide glossy black grille at the center of which features the new emblem of the manufacturer, the “Dacia link”. For the rest, Dacia designers opted for matte black, more durable over time. The front and rear skis are tinted throughout, making them more resistant. The protections that run all around the body on the sides, wheel arches, and lower part of the bumpers are made of Starkle—a material partly derived from recycling—in its raw, unpainted form.

Inside, designers went straight to the essentials: space, ergonomics, comfort. The very vertical dashboard placed high increases available space for the front passengers. All driving-related information is gathered on the digital dashboard available in 7 or 10 inches depending on the finish. Information related to the multimedia system is on the 10.1-inch touchscreen in standard on all Bigster models. The seats are designed in a single product style with fabric for all. Forget vegan leather or not, Dacia chose a material available in three options. Simplicity and comfort for the Essential and Expression trims, resistance and ease of cleaning for the Extreme models, or slightly higher comfort on the Journey range.

We still think that a 7-seater version could have opened new horizons for this model, but Dacia has its reasons, likely related to the very structure of the vehicle. Or perhaps it’s planned for later? We asked the question and are waiting for the answer.
