This BMW will be chased every weekend by the fastest motorcycles in the world

The MotoGP World Championship hosts this season an unprecedented hybrid Safety Car break, the new BMW M5 Touring.

The MotoGP officially launched its 2025 season with an exceptional event organized in Bangkok, providing the opportunity to discover the BMW M5 Touring, which will serve as the Safety Car for all 22 races. Although not participating in this championship, BMW has been the exclusive partner of the MotoGP World Championship since 1999 and supplies all official vehicles, from the Safety Car to various medical intervention vehicles.

Based on the BMW M5 Touring, this hybrid car combines a V8 combustion engine with an electric motor, developing a maximum power output of 727 horsepower and an impressive torque of 1,000 Nm. This configuration provides optimal performance on the circuit. Specific modifications, including advanced safety equipment and reinforced, finely tuned suspension components, have been made to meet MotoGP standards. Such a powerhouse was necessary to contain the fervor of the 22 riders and their machines exceeding 250 horsepower, easily surpassing 350 km/h. We hope our two French representatives, Fabio Quartararo and Johann Zarco, will have the chance to see this BMW up close every weekend.

Its exterior design draws inspiration from BMW M Hybrid V8 models competing in international endurance races, notably the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This unique livery reflects BMW M’s commitment to developing cutting-edge hybrid technologies, linking racing heritage to innovations for the road. Surprisingly, in this world of speed and fury, the BMW M5 Touring stands out for its energy efficiency. With a combined fuel consumption of 2.0 l/100 km and 30.7 kWh/100 km, as well as CO2 emissions limited to 46 g/km according to the WLTP cycle, this beast is environmentally responsible, balancing power with respect for the environment.
