Skoda Enyaq RS Race

More than just a simple style exercise reserved for showrooms, the Skoda Enyaq RS Race is the vision of a more fun electric world.

We know Skoda for its serious, well-designed cars, sometimes almost too sensible. But with the Enyaq RS Race, the Czech brand shows that it also knows how to let loose. And frankly, seeing such a rigorous manufacturer release an electric racing beast is a refreshing change.

Beneath its aggressive concept car looks, the Enyaq RS Race is primarily a concentration of good ideas. Based on the Skoda Enyaq Coupe vRS, it quickly moves away from it with its heavily reworked silhouette. Lowered by 70 mm, widened by 72 mm at the front and 116 mm at the rear, it adopts flared wheel arches, an aggressive diffuser, and a huge rear wing.

But it’s not just a style exercise. Thanks to the use of innovative materials, including flax-based biocomposites, this radical Enyaq loses no less than 316 kg compared to the standard model. The bumpers, fenders, roof, wing, as well as the dashboard, door panels, and footrests have been redesigned to lighten the whole thing. Even the side windows are made of polycarbonate.

Closer to the standard Enyaq

On the technical side, the Skoda Enyaq RS Race retains the electric powertrain of the standard model, with two motors delivering 250 kW, or about 340 hp. The maximum speed is intentionally limited to 180 km/h, a way of saying that this kind of toy is not aimed at straight-line racers, but thanks to its reduced weight and refined aerodynamics, it now takes less than 5 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h. The aero kit promises impressive cornering speeds.

The chassis has been thoroughly revised: adjustable sport suspension, optimized dampers, carbon-ceramic brakes with ten pistons at the front, four at the rear, limited-slip differential on both axles, and a hydraulic handbrake like in rally cars. Inside, it’s all about racing with six-point harness bucket seats, a steering wheel inspired by the Fabia RS Rally2, updated instrumentation, and even an audio system that simulates a mechanical roar at 30 km/h.

With the Enyaq RS Race, Skoda proves that electrification, sustainability, and a competitive spirit can be combined without taking itself too seriously. And that sometimes, even the most rational know how to show a welcome hint of madness.
