Denmark offers us an electric gem

Diem Motors, a young Danish start-up, has just presented its first prototype electric motorcycle, the X-01.
This spectacular electric motorcycle with a sleek design does not seek to replicate existing models but aims to start from a blank slate. The goal is clear: to offer a modern machine that combines style, innovation, and riding pleasure.
The founding trio brings together complementary profiles. Daniel Kemnitz, Manvendra Shaktawat, and Angel Lussiana have solid experience in design, high-level engineering, and prestigious collaborations with BMW, Piaggio, and Red Bull Advanced Technologies. A credible team to envision a new generation of electric two-wheelers.

What truly sets Diem apart is its commitment to develop everything in-house. The frame, electric motor, and battery are designed together rather than assembled from various suppliers’ parts. This approach ensures better balance of the motorcycle, more sustainable production, and above all, significant freedom to evolve the project rapidly.
A well-connected electric project
On the technical side, the X-01 features an axial flux motor integrated directly into the rear wheel. This choice eliminates the chain and belt in favor of a direct transmission. The compact, powerful motor delivers generous torque and a more responsive feel, while simplifying maintenance. With approximately 35 kW, or 47 horsepower, the motorcycle remains accessible to A2 license holders while already promising serious thrills.

The equipment follows the same philosophy. The monocoque frame displays a minimalist style, the single-sided swingarm showcases the rear wheel, the inverted Showa fork ensures precision and comfort, and the Brembo brakes guarantee sharp and effective stops.

The range has not yet been revealed, but this prototype already stands out. The X-01 proves that an electric motorcycle can be designed as a coherent whole, light, agile, and exciting to ride.
Diem Motors does not simply want to add another electric motorcycle to the market. With the X-01, the Danish start-up offers a new vision, focused on the future and tailored to attract a new generation of riders. Now we just need to know its price to hope that there’s nothing rotten in the Kingdom of Denmark…
