The Toyota bZ3C is increasingly winning us over!

Toyota claims it will be their most technological car to date, with autonomous driving and an intelligent cockpit.

The Toyota bZ3C was unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show, but it closely follows the lines of the bZ Sport Crossover concept introduced a year earlier in Shanghai. It is a midsize SUV measuring 4780 mm long, 1866 mm wide, and 1510 mm high, with a 2880 mm wheelbase. Nothing extraordinary so far, except that the design of the car is a true success.

The bZ3C offers eight exterior color options, including shades like black, white, gray, orange, and red. Some versions are two-tone, with the roof and window surrounds in black. Inside, you can choose between red, black, or white, but the dashboard and steering wheel remain black. The 15.6-inch infotainment screen is the central element of the dashboard. It will eventually provide access to over 200 applications and features a driver and passenger monitoring system. This system includes functionalities such as facial recognition, video calls, child reminders, as well as voice and gesture controls. The steering wheel features several buttons, and the display is located near the windshield, without a head-up display. The front seats can fully recline to create a sleeping space. The trunk maintains a reasonable volume despite the vehicle’s coupe line, with 463 liters.

In the base version, the bZ3C is equipped with a 200 kW electric motor powered by a BYD blade lithium-ion battery. Two versions will be available: one with a range of 550 km and the other of 630 km. These figures should be reduced by at least 20% because they are calculated according to the more optimistic CLTC standard compared to our European WLTP. It is equipped with Lidar technology for autonomous driving, allowing it to manage city driving, speed, and parking almost better than a human.

A small piece of advice for Toyota to ensure a successful career for this favorite car… change its name!
