Legends of Grand Prix Audi

At the dawn of its entry into Formula 1 in 2026, Audi celebrates the history of Grand Prix racing with a unique exhibition.

The Audi Museum in Ingolstadt offers an unprecedented retrospective titled “Legends of Grand Prix.” From December 16, 2025, to March 8, 2026, visitors will be able to discover 16 iconic vehicles, tracing over 100 years of motorsport, from the first historic Grand Prix victory to contemporary racing cars.

Among the highlights are the Silver Arrows of Auto Union – Type A, C, and D – the Jordan 191 from 1991, the first Formula 1 car driven by Michael Schumacher, and the Sauber C31 from 2012. The showcar F1 Audi Launch Livery 2022 will also be on display, leading up to the brand’s official participation in the FIA World Championship.

The exhibition offers a chronological journey starting with the first Grand Prix races. The Renault 90 CV, a replica of the vehicle driven by Ferenc Szisz in the first Grand Prix of France in 1906, opens the tour. Visitors will also discover the Talbot-Lago T26 C, present at the very first Formula 1 Grand Prix in Silverstone in 1950, as well as the victorious NSU 6/60 PS from the 1926 German Grand Prix.

All Brands, All Eras

Classics abound: the Bugatti Type 35 C, one of the most successful racing cars in history, develops up to 130 hp thanks to its Roots supercharger. The 1928 Wanderer W8 and the 1947 Cisitalia 360 complete the historical collection, while the Toleman-Hart TG184 from 1984, driven by Ayrton Senna, reminisces about the golden days of modern Formula 1.

Stefan Trauf, director of Audi Tradition, emphasizes: “With this exhibition, we aim to shorten the winter break for F1 fans and present spectacular models until the start of the new season.” According to Stefan Felber, curator, “each vehicle tells a vital chapter in the history of motorsport, from its beginnings to Audi’s first participations in F1.”
