Starting grid and schedule for the Bahrain F1 Grand Prix

Meet us in Sakhir on Bahrain Island this Sunday, April 13, 2025, for the fourth race of the 2025 F1 season.

For the first time since 2019, the Sakhir circuit does not open the Formula 1 season, an honor that has been unusually assigned to Melbourne this year. This choice results from adjustments related to the Ramadan calendar, prompting F1 and organizers to schedule the event in April. Just a week after the Japanese Grand Prix, drivers and teams return to the track on Bahrain Island.

Having been part of the calendar since 2004, Sakhir is also a key venue for winter testing, where teams refined their cars during three pre-season testing days. With its 5.412 km, 15 turns, four long straights, and three DRS zones, this track is familiar to everyone. It has often hosted spectacular races, such as the Mercedes duel in 2014 or the Verstappen-Leclerc confrontation in 2022.

The Bahrain Grand Prix has seen victories by four current drivers. Lewis Hamilton holds five wins there (2014, 2015, 2019, 2020, 2021), Fernando Alonso three (2005, 2006, 2010), Charles Leclerc one (2022), and Max Verstappen the last two editions (2023, 2024). With two of its drivers already on the circuit’s winners’ list, Scuderia Ferrari arrives strongly with great ambitions.

This edition promises to be captivating. Between the stakes of an still uncertain championship and the dynamics established in the initial races, the show is expected to impress. The Sakhir circuit, with its clever mix of acceleration zones and technical turns, reaffirms its status as an unmissable classic in Formula 1.
