Citroën Already Wins in Formula E!

Nick Cassidy gives Citroën Racing its first victory in Formula E, propelling the team to the top of the championship.

Citroën Racing reached a historic milestone by securing its first victory in Formula E this weekend at the iconic Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit in Mexico. In front of packed stands, the team confirmed its excellent start to the season, achieving victory following a podium finish in the first round.

Nick Cassidy, starting from 13th on the grid, delivered a spectacular and methodical race, executing crucial overtakes to take the win after a performance marked by precision and patience. The New Zealand driver allowed Citroën Racing to take the lead in both the teams’ championship and the drivers’ rankings, totaling 44 points at the end of this early part of the season.

Jean-Éric Vergne also shined. Starting from 18th position, the French driver climbed to 8th place, adding valuable points for the team and demonstrating the strength of their driver duo.

This success marks a promising start to the season for Citroën Racing, which had already made a splash in São Paulo with a podium finish in the inaugural round in December. With 62 points in the Constructors’ Championship, Stellantis, the team’s parent company, also benefits from this exceptional performance.
