Niu MQi GT EVO: the electric scooter flexes its muscles

The Chinese electric scooter specialist Niu has introduced the MQi GT EVO, a 125 cc equivalent more powerful than its predecessors, still with a competitive price.

Niu is one of the key players in the electric scooter market, with models known for their good value for money. With the new MQi GT EVO, the Chinese manufacturer maintains this attractive formula, although the initial price might deter some two-wheel enthusiasts: at €5,000, the vehicle remains more expensive than a traditional 125 cc combustion engine scooter.

But at this price, it still offers interesting features compared to direct competitors: instead of the 3.1 kW electric motor that equipped the MQi GT, the MQi GT EVO features a 5 kW generator that can even reach 6.5 kW at peak.

It also receives larger batteries of 3.75 kW, allowing for a maximum range of about 75 km and a top speed of 100 km/h. Capable of leaving the city, it remains slightly cheaper than most 5 kW electric scooters.
