Zero: New battery and increased range for the SR/S and SR/F
This page is translated from the original post "Zero : nouvelle batterie et plus d’autonomie pour les SR/S et SR/F" in French.

The roadster and sports models from Zero Motorcycles can now go further on a single charge, thanks to a new higher-capacity battery.
Like Energica, Zero Motorcycles is a pioneer in the electric motorcycle market. While recently focusing much of its efforts on developing its new trail, the California manufacturer has also taken the time to make some improvements to the SR/S and SR/F models.
The main innovation concerns the battery, whose capacity now reaches 17.3 kWh. Since this value is roughly the same as that given for the DSR/X, it can be inferred that all three bikes use the same battery.
This change logically results in progress regarding range. Below are the now-announced figures for these two bikes:
Zero SR/S | Zero SR/F | |
City | 301 km | 301 km |
Highway | 150 km | 150 km |
Mixed | 180 km | 183 km |
A full or nearly full recharge in 1 hour
The SR/F and SR/S models can optionally be equipped with an additional battery – or Power Tank in Zero Motorcycles terminology – which increases total capacity to 20.7 kWh. However, if customers choose this option, they cannot select the onboard 6 kW charger at the same time, which is an additional €3,000 option. With this equipment, charging time from 0 to 95% drops to one hour on a suitable station (compared to 2 hours without it).

The Zero SR/F and SR/S are both powered by an electric motor delivering a maximum power of 100 hp (54 hp continuous). The torque peaks at 190 Nm. In terms of performance, Zero claims a top speed of 200 km/h.
The 2023 models of the Zero SR/F and SR/S are already available. The starting price is at least €25,790 for the former and €26,635 for the latter, excluding a €900 eco bonus.
