Yadea Keeness VFD

With the Keeness VFD, Yadea should offer an interesting alternative for those looking for an affordable 125cc electric bike.

Yadea, a major Chinese specialist in electric two-wheelers, is entering the motorcycle market. Unveiled at the EICMA, its new Keeness VFD aims to position itself in the accessible electric motorcycle segment… like a certain Super Soco TC Max!

Despite its rather muscular style, the Yadea Keeness VFD remains very reasonable technically, with a small 5.5 kW motor (10 kW peak). Accelerating from 0 to 50 km/h takes 4 seconds, and the top speed reaches 100 km/h. Regarding range, Yadea claims 140 km at a steady 45 km/h. The two 2.3 kWh batteries are removable.

Instead of placing the motor directly in the wheel like Super Soco with the TC Max, Yadea chose to position it at the center of the bike. The weight distribution is thus improved (50/50 between front and rear), but the presence of a chain will lead to additional maintenance requirements.

No prices yet

The Yadea Keeness VFD features 17-inch wheels, disc brakes with ABS, a 5-inch display for instrumentation, and a keyless start system. A 16-liter storage compartment has been added between the seat and the handlebar. A connected app will allow access to various information (battery status, charge level, etc.).

The Keeness VFD is expected to go on sale next year. Yadea has not announced any pricing. Considering the brand’s positioning and the provided figures, prices should be quite reasonable for an electric motorcycle. As a reminder, a Super Soco TC Max costs just over €5,000.
